| This outdoor marine aquarium was fashioned to resemble a moat surrounding a medieval castle complete with a working drawbridge. The moat has several waterfalls and a stream, which feeds into a grotto stocked with lobster.
To reach the main entrance of the castle, visitors must cross the moat on one of two bridges, where they are usually greeted by a large red grouper, the first inhabitant stocked, and the unquestionable ruler of his 100,000-gallon realm. A walk across the moat reveals a crystal clear aquarium teaming with sharks, reef fish, tarpon, and large moray eels.
Biscayne Aquaculture designed and built the Life Support System to accommodate several external influences such as landscape debris, run-off soil, and rain.
